Headwear: Caps vs. Beanies

  • Jan 13, 2021

Promotional hats are a great way to promote your business, event, and organization. When selecting the perfect cap or beanie for your promotional hat needs cost, quality and production time are always at the forefront. The three main factors that will determine the final cost will be the hat quality, your logo and total quantity ordered.

With so many different styles available, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. With this quick guide to promotional headwear, you’ll learn how each style can benefit your brand.

Best known as baseball caps or baseball hats, these are a type of soft cap with a rounded crown and a stiff bill in the front. Caps can be fitted to the wearers’ head or can feature an elastic, plastic prong, velcro, or slide backing that is adjustable.

There are a few different varieties to be aware of with baseball caps. The snapback hat features an adjustable snap closure at the back and generally has a flat bill. The adjustable hat is often unstructured with a curved brim and has an adjustable back. Fitted hats can have flat or curved bills and are not adjustable. Flexfit caps are similar to fitted hats, but are stretchy instead of being fitted or adjustable. Depending on your needs, you can choose a hat that is more trendy like a Flexfit or Richardson or something more settle like a dad hat.

BeanieBeanies, also known as toques or skullcaps, are knit caps made of wool or synthetic materials. They are designed to provide warmth in cold weather and are tapered at the top. Beanies stretch and hug the head, keeping the cap secure and the wearer warm.

Beanies can be topped with a pompom and many have a cuff (folded brim). Not to mention, they are great for Calgary's winters!

One point we always try to make with our customers when creating a promotional hat will be to give your customers something that they will want and wear. What is the point of spending money to giveaway a product that will just be tossed out in the trash? The entire point is to have people wear and keep the product for years promoting your company or event.
